Incoming & Outgoing Grant Summary
Broseley Town Council gives sincere thanks to the following organisations who have provided the Town Council with vital funding for our community
Shropshire Councils Welcome Back Fund – The Town Council has received funding from the Welcome Back Fund and has carried out the following activities – the purchase of new Christmas lights for the Christmas Lights Committee, a deep-clean within the main High-street and LibraryCar-park, Re-pointing the Memorial Garden, New planters and planting which was carried out by Broseley in Bloom, and a vital contribution towards a well deserved Bus Shelter for the community.
The Welcome Back Fund is providing councils across England a share of £56 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to support the safe return to high streets and help build back better from the pandemic.
National Lottery agreed to fund our Jubilee Celebrations -The Town Councils Platinum Jubilee High Street Community Party Celebrations were awarded £8500 to help our community thrive.
The funding enabled the Town Council to purchase Jubilee commemorative gift pin badges for all school children in the Town, and allowed the Council to hold a FREE Broseley Bake-off and Children’s BOOKNIC within the Library on 2 June 2022, this really showed community spirit! the event was such a Success and a fantastic day to be part of.
Jubilee Street Party – Sunday 5 June 2022 – Broseley Town Council also invited the whole community to our street party within the high-street on Sunday 5 June 2022 as part of the national celebrations, unfortunately we were unable to carry out our original plan to host our street party in the main high street due to poor weather conditions, but it still went ahead within the Victoria Hall and Birchmeadow Center and it was a excellent team effort, enjoyed by the whole community.
We give thanks to the NLF, the Queen, staff and organisations who made this event possible.
